Alicia and Dennis met for the first time in university through mutual friends in 2018. Alicia was the team manager for the university volleyball team, and Dennis decided to trial. On their trip to the Gold Coast for the tournament, the two connected instantly. Dennis walked around Surfers Paradise trying to find the perfect acai bowl for Alicia because he heard that she loves them. Initially, Alicia thought that he was coming on too strong, but after they got home and started spending more time together, it became very clear that the two shared a special connection.  Dennis asked Alicia to be his girlfriend at Holey Moley, where they went back to to celebrate their first anniversary. The next year of their relationship saw Alicia and Dennis spending a lot of quality time together during the pandemic. Their favourite memories are celebrating an anniversary with a three-course homecooked dinner at Alicia's house, staying over at each other's houses having movie marathons and eating lots of comfort food. Once the pandemic ended, Alicia and Dennis spent a lot of time playing volleyball together, getting closer with each other's families and going on trips around Victoria and Australia. Five years in, the two bought their first home together and brought their puppy Lilo home to start their little family. 
Almost a year later in January 2025, the two went on their first overseas trip to Europe where Dennis got down on one knee and proposed in front of the castle at Disneyland Paris, marking the start of the rest of their lives together.
